We are entering the U.S. market and plan to export approximately 30 – 36 thousand cubic meters of LVL beams already this year – accounting for about a quarter of our annual production. We see strong potential in this market so we are consistently strengthening our position and aiming for the U.S. to become one of our key export destinations in the long term.
We have taken an important step forward by obtaining a special certification confirming that our LVL products meet U.S. structural standards.
“This is our ticket to enter the market. The certification allows us to operate according to U.S. standards and become part of the local supply chain”, – says Ramūnas Grudis, CEO of VMG Lignum construction.
Our expansion into the U.S. has been driven not only by access to a new market, but also by its scale. The U.S. is the largest LVL market in the world, and we are purposefully leveraging this opportunity.

In the short term we will ensure the planned export volumes by optimizing our existing capacities and increasing their utilization. This allows us to make more efficient use of our infrastructure and achieve more stable production planning.
As demand grows we are prepared for further expansion. Entering the U.S. market requires not only investment but also long-term preparation – from technology to quality control. This is not a fast process which is why such opportunities do not arise every day.
This step is a consistent part of our strategy – we are diversifying our export markets and strengthening our competitiveness internationally which may also have a positive impact on production volumes and the growth of our team’s capacity.
